- ➤ Goo Goo Dolls will tour the region next summer starting with a show on Aug. 3 at Grand Forks' Alerus Center, with tickets on sale Friday at 10 a.m., while Alison Krauss and Union Station add a Moorhead stop on June 16 with tickets from $61.25. KVRR
- ➤ The Plains Art Museum has kicked off its annual free holiday concert series today in its main lobby, where different musical acts perform at noon daily. The museum also announced it is partnering with the Smithsonian, with more details coming in January. KVRR
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The new state school superintendent announced a statewide academic progress report on Dec. 8 that showed 84 percent of students graduate—a 7 percent increase among Native American students—and revealed that 73 percent met the Choice Ready Initiative to prepare for life after high school. - ➤ North Dakota University System President Brent Sanford said the tuition award program is not reducing Minnesota enrollment in public colleges, noting some eastern institutions have seen more Minnesota freshmen this year. The tuition-free initiative, signed in May 2023, supports Pell Grant-eligible students & families earning below $80,000. WDAY Radio
