COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The ND Highway Patrol is taking part in the First Responder Christmas Food and Toy Drive, accepting donations Saturday, Dec. 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Walmart on 52nd Avenue South in Fargo—others, including Rock Island Place in Bismarck, will also accept gifts statewide.  AM 1100 The Flag
  • Local non-profit Dear NICU Mama in Fargo is sending 4,200 holiday cards to moms in the NICU as part of its nationwide volunteer program + a project that began in 2019 to offer support during this season.  KVRR
  • Fargo and West Fargo Public Libraries are holding mitten collection drives through January 11 to help keep local residents warm this winter. Donations of new or gently used child-sized winter gear including mittens, gloves, and coats are accepted at all library locations.  KVRR

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The NDDOT reported that five snow plows were struck during the season's first snow event, including two in the Fargo area, and warned drivers to slow down and leave extra room on icy roads.  AM 1100 The Flag

  • The NDSU Presidential Search Committee meets Friday, Dec. 5 to review a campus survey, set a position description and timeline while Commissioner Brent Sanford shares expectations — as it begins the search for a new president after President David Cook returns to Iowa State.  AM 1100 The Flag

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • North Dakota cleared a key step in its plan to offer high-speed fiber when the BEAD plan was approved Monday by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. Governor Kelly Armstrong said the approval will close connectivity gaps and support local growth — a step toward connecting all residents.  AM 1100 The Flag

  • Fargo Force head coach Brett Skinner joined James McCarty and Jace Denman on Dec. 3 to review team play and strategy as the Force prepared for the Christmas break (the broadcast highlighted planned game adjustments).  WDAY Radio
