- ➤ Fargo area students hosted the 19th annual Fill the Dome food drive—collecting over 100,000 pounds of food and more than $45,000 in donations as part of the 'Be a SOUPer Hero' theme. Organizers then distributed around 1,400 boxes to nearly 475 families through a drive-through event at Fargodome. KVRR

- ➤ An 8th grade student collapsed during a basketball game at Discovery Middle School last Friday and later died at Sanford Medical Center—a GoFundMe has been organized to help her family with funeral expenses. KVRR
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Packet Digital of Fargo received a $50 million federal award to expand production lines at its Badland Batteries manufacturing facility to boost supply of high-power battery packs for the Army, Navy, Air Force and Special Forces—this funding from the Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of Innovative Technologies Program will support a reliable domestic battery supply. - ➤ Secretary of State Michael Howe received a petition to propose a constitutional measure for free school meals in public schools sponsored by Robin Anderson Nelson Peterson of Fargo — the proposal requires that school districts use federal reimbursements for meals and collect over 31,000 valid signatures for the ballot next year. - ➤ NDSU held its third annual Friendsgiving event on Nov.26 to welcome over 300 students to the Memorial Union where a full Thanksgiving-style meal, including roast turkey and traditional sides, was served. The event, funded by foundation and campus resources, provided a welcoming space for international, graduate, and undergraduate students staying on campus during the break. NDSU

- ➤ Public Works crews will begin clearing snow from downtown Fargo avenues between 2nd Ave South and 7th Ave North from 2nd Street to University Drive tonight into Friday morning—vehicles parked in these areas must be moved, and local drivers can use side streets or city lots and garages with free parking available in select spots after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends.
