- ➤ Holiday Inn partnered with United Way of Cass Clay to host the second Cheesy for Charity event featuring a mac and cheese competition among local chefs and restaurants — community members sampled dishes and voted for their favorite, raising over $2,700 to help families. KVRR

ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ WBI Energy detailed its plan for the Bakken East natural gas pipeline, stating it will launch a binding open season in early 2026 and sign agreements by mid-year before seeking federal approval between July and September, with construction set to begin in the latter half of 2028 and complete in two phases by the end of 2030 — the pipeline is expected to service up to 1 billion cubic feet per day. - ➤ North Dakota State University student-athletes will be honored with scholarships at the Harvest Bowl program on November 14 and 15—an event featuring a dinner and awards ceremony in West Fargo on November 14 and a football game with Northern Iowa on November 15. - ➤ The NDSU College of Engineering held its 8th Scholarship and Awards Reception on October 30 at Memorial Union—where more than $3 million in scholarships were awarded to incoming and current students. - ➤ Fargo Public Works unveiled winning names for several city snow plows after more than 1,100 residents voted in an online poll—finalists were chosen with help from Mayor Tim Mahoney and Deputy Mayor Denise Kolpack, and individuals who submitted winning names received Fargo gear and a feature in a city video. The winning names include Betty Whiteout, BoomChickaPlowPlow, Buzz Iceclear, Plowabunga, Wheeler Snow Peeler, and Teddy Snowsevelt. KVRR
- ➤ The state announced that partial SNAP benefits began on Friday for about 28,000 households after federal funding was disrupted — officials updated systems and recalculated benefits amid ongoing court proceedings. The move follows a judge’s order directing full November funding to support food security across North Dakota. KVRR
