- ➤ North Dakota is using $1.5 million from the Department of Health and Human Services to support food programs amid a federal shutdown that will delay SNAP benefits, with Governor Armstrong noting that the Great Plains Food Bank received $915,000 to buy over 450,000 pounds of food for roughly 24,000 households. He said the state also set aside $600,000 to keep the Women, Infants and Children Program fully funded through November — a step taken to help families until federal aid resumes. KVRR
