  • Midco announced the next phase of its Fiber Forward initiative with an $18M investment to bring multi-gig fiber internet to over 36,000 homes and businesses in Horace, West Fargo, and Fargo by next year, and upgrades in other towns will start in 2027—with the Fargo-Moorhead area set to finish by 2028 and offer symmetrical 1 Gbps speeds with an option for 2 Gbps downloads.  AM 1100 The Flag

EDUCATION NEWS

  • West Fargo Public Schools named Elizabeth Mackowick as Interim Business Manager after Levi Bachmeier was named Interim State Superintendent on October 21. Mackowick spent 13 of her 20 years in education at West Fargo plus the district will finish its search for a permanent manager by June 30, 2026.  WDAY Radio

  • North Dakota leaders are urging lawmakers to act as SNAP benefits may be cut on November 1 if the government shutdown continues - many families could lose food assistance.   • Bras Off Broadway returns at Brewhalla near downtown Fargo to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. The sold-out fourth edition features a social hour with a silent auction, live DJ, buffet dinner and a fashion show with models displaying custom-made bras—highlighting community support.  KVRR
  • October marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the YWCA in Fargo explained prevention efforts by sharing warning signs and listing services—such as crisis counseling, legal advocacy and emergency shelter—to help survivors rebuild their lives.  WDAY Radio

  • NDSU linebacker Logan Kopp said his team will use its size and strength to win the upcoming Dakota Marker game after recapping their recent contest at Indiana State — a match that tested their physical style.
