- ➤ CPKC announced the December holiday train schedule that will mark its 27th year of free shows, lights and music to bring holiday cheer to regional communities. The decorated train will stop in North Dakota at Hankinson, Enderlin and Carrington on December 17 and 18 — with additional stops scheduled in Minnesota and donations accepted. WDAY Radio

- ➤ A Grand Forks-based company is planning a truck stop, convenience store, car wash and liquor store called Northdale Oil Travel Center in north Fargo—its site is at 4300 County Road 81 near the Amazon Fulfillment Center warehouse. The project will cost about $5-6 million with over $2 million in groundwork, and it is led by the family-owned Northdale Oil Company. KVRR

ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota Tourism and Marketing awarded $15 million in Destination Development Grants to 23 projects selected from 106 applications across 45 communities—projects include Fargo’s Red Panda Legacy Project and enhancements in West Fargo meant to boost tourism and economic growth statewide. - ➤ NDSU researchers are among the world’s top 2% most cited scientists according to the Science-wide Author Databases (Standardized Citation Indicators) released on September 19. The university has 29 researchers on the single-year list and 36 on the career list (including 6 new faculty added this summer). NDSU
- ➤ The NDSU Foundation announced it surpassed its Giving Day goal during its 10th annual online event in support of the university, raising $2.91 million from 1,726 donors versus a $1.25 million target. - ➤ Industry leaders met with the Downtown Community Partnership in Fargo — discussing the growing downtown population that currently has about 6,000 residents but rises to 15,000 each day. Rocky Schneider said the group is working on key projects, including a $93 million Renaissance zone project — aimed at using existing land more effectively. KVRR
- ➤ Veterans Treatment Court in Cass and Grand Forks counties offers veterans facing criminal charges a chance to get sober by pairing them with mentors in a program that lasts at least one year and excludes those charged with violent offenses or sex crimes. Tony Baker and Travis Ostrom explained on WDAY Radio that the program helps veterans access mental health counseling and Veterans Affairs healthcare and may expand soon to cities like Bismarck and Minot.
