They noted that AI makes tasks easier—such as streamlining data—and brings risks like job changes, privacy issues and security threats, so students should build digital skills carefully. NDSU
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Today, NDSU launches its 10th annual Giving Day, a 31½-hour event that invites alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends to donate funds for scholarships, research and hands-on learning. Donations made online may qualify for matching plus challenge gifts to further boost the university’s programs. NDSU
- ➤ NDDPI officials said on Monday, October 13 that federal staffing cuts at the DOE will not immediately affect students because all federal funding for the current year has been received and distributed to schools. WDAY Radio
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Retired park ranger Walt Dabney hiked the Badlands on Sunday to see how federal funding cuts affected public lands and to note work like the new bridge on the Maah Daah Hey Trail—he is using his tour to show how volunteers are stepping in to help. He gave a talk yesterday at Dickinson State University, is speaking tonight at the Heritage Center, and will address the issue tomorrow at the University of North Dakota. KVRR
