- ➤ Roberts Alley welcomed the new Fergie's & Frenchie's Creperie on Friday when it opened to serve fresh crepes such as strawberry, banana, Nutella and a savory salmon-style option. The business, owned by the operator of Ferguson Books, was inspired by a French cafe in Grand Forks and will offer new seasonal crepes and drinks five days a week. KVRR

- ➤ Haunted Downtown Fargo tours will return this Halloween season with new stops at the First Avenue Market building and Romantix bookstore along with favorites such as the Ivers building—site of a former mortuary—and the Prescott building, where a Minnesota farm girl's murder took place. The two-hour tour will explain the real historic events that shaped the city’s dark past. KVRR
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Amped School of Music has launched two four‑week rock band crash courses that will rehearse weekly from October 12th to November 2nd and perform live on November 6th at Troll Lounge. - ➤ North Dakota agencies said that state employees and essential services remain secure amid the federal shutdown since less than 10% of the state payroll is federally funded. Officials warned that if the shutdown lasts longer than 35 days—state leaders may use state funds or call a special session to keep programs running. KVRR

- ➤ Scheels Home and Hardware is hosting the fourteenth annual North Dakota BBQ Championship in Fargo where over 40 teams from the United States and Canada compete for the title and cash prizes up to $1,500.
