- ➤ Fargo Police are monitoring a moose seen in the city and warned residents not to approach or feed the animal (it may look calm) (but it can be unpredictable and dangerous). AM 1100 The Flag
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Theatre NDSU and Theatre B will present a co-production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet in a modern adaptation that blends Italian Renaissance style with 1940s Italian flair—this production will start Oct. 16 at NDSU’s Walsh Studio Theatre in Fargo and then move to Theatre B in Moorhead with a matinee on Oct. 26. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ NDSU researchers led by Professor Chad Ulven are testing new 3D printing methods that mix short and continuous fibers into resin to make parts stronger—these techniques may soon allow printers to build larger structures for many industries. NDSU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota now offers a mobile ID that works like a credit card and is available in mobile wallets at five airports including Fargo (NDDOT advises travelers to still carry their physical card during the transition). This new option is available for Apple, Google, and Samsung Wallets with a $5 renewal fee. AM 1100 The Flag
- ➤ The City’s engineering department says two road lanes will close today on westbound 1st Avenue South between 8th and 9th Streets as well as northbound 9th Street South between Main and 1st Avenues due to underground utility work—closures may last up to two weeks. WDAY Radio
- ➤ North Dakota Highway Patrol is adding eight new troopers from the Law Enforcement Training Academy who will start on October 6 but the department remains six troopers short of the required 171, officials said. The agency is reviewing additional candidates who are set to join in summer 2026. AM 1100 The Flag
- ➤ The Public Service Commission has scheduled a hearing on October 13 to review Xcel Energy’s plan for a 19% rate increase that would affect 97,000 customers and add over $44 million a year in revenue. Customers may give their comments in person in Fargo at the State College of Science campus or by video from Bismarck, Grand Forks, and Minot—providing many ways to share their views. KVRR
