- ➤ Heroes Compass will host its fourth annual walk on Monday at 9:22 a.m. at Percy Godwin Park (also known as Elephant Park) to raise awareness for veterans facing suicidal thoughts; the 2.2-mile route will end at the Downtown Fargo VFW Post #762 building as the group notes that 22 veterans commit suicide each day. - ➤ At Olivet Lutheran Church, dedicated quilters make about 250 quilts a year—half for local charities—and a special quilt was created for FM Volunteers for Ukraine to help Ukrainian refugee families losing sponsorship and legal work. The quilt will be auctioned at the Day of Peace Fundraiser at Gooseberry Park on Sunday, September 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. KVRR

- ➤ North Dakotans continue to choose air travel as eight commercial airports set a record for boardings in August with 112,982 passengers compared to 108,035 last year; Hector International Airport reached a record 50,867 boardings—marking 16 consecutive months of record-breaking traffic. - ➤ A report from NDSU and the USDA shows that farmers face the worst basis ever recorded in North Dakota as harvest begins—prices have dropped to -150 cents per bushel while cash stands at 8.50 per bushel. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, volunteers from local businesses and high schoolers planted around 200 trees and 2,000 shrubs along the Red River as part of the annual Reforest the Red event—this work aims to restore native plants and support river wildlife. KVRR

- ➤ A town hall meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday, September 23 from 5 to 6:30 at Fargo City Commission Chambers to discuss relocating the Downtown Engagement Center—DEC. Three possible sites have been announced, and the city will revisit the topic at its September 29 meeting. KVRR
