COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A local group will hold a vigil in memory of Charlie Kirk—founder of Turning Point USA who was assassinated last week while speaking at Utah Valley University—at NDSU’s Churchill Field on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.  WDAY Radio
  • A memorial site for Charlie Kirk was set up outside Flag Family Media & Fieldstone Group headquarters at 2852 Thunder Road South in south Fargo as a place for locals to honor his memory. His memorial service will be held next Sunday, September 21 in Glendale, Ariz.  WDAY Radio

BUSINESS NEWS

  • In Ellendale, Mayor Don Flaherty welcomed tech company Applied Digital’s blockchain facility that helped reverse population loss, while Harwood residents objected after the city council approved a similar plan. Harwood will soon see Polaris Forge 2—covering 900 acres at an estimated cost of $3 billion—with the company assuring that environmental concerns are minimal.  KVRR

CULTURE NEWS

  • Families enjoyed the West Fargo Events Carnival at the Lights after it began just after noon on September 14 — the event featured games such as ring toss and plinko and offered face painting and live music.  KVRR

SPORTS NEWS

  • Fargo sports fans are invited to vote for the Chris Heise Play of the Week—voting options include plays such as Ty Hazer’s interception, Shay Setterholm’s ball tracking, Elise Lefers’ goal win, and Chase Haffely’s one-handed catch, with votes cast via X, Instagram or Facebook.  KVRR
  • On September 12, 2025, Bismarck Century won 17-13 over WF Sheyenne, WF Horace beat Mandan 35-14, Fargo North defeated Fargo South 28-21, GF Central beat Dickinson 44-21, Hillsboro-Central Valley won 6-0 over E-E-K, Staples-Motley beat Hawley 43-13, and Stephen-Argyle Central won 6-0 over Goodridge-G-G in high school football.  KVRR
