COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Northern Plains Botanic Garden in Fargo hosted its fifth annual Scarecrows in the Garden event on September 13—featuring straw-made scarecrows, a scavenger hunt, a fall market, and food from Heart-N-Soul Community Cafe. Donations raised during the free-admission fundraiser will support security upgrades and other garden needs, and the event ran from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  KVRR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • An Arbor Day celebration is set for Monday in Fargo to launch the city forestry department’s fall tree planting with 300 replacements, and Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney will read a proclamation at 2 p.m. at the new Public Works Administration Building — marking the start of planned landscaping improvements. A Reforest the Red event will be held Wednesday in partnership with Fargo Parks and River Keepers — and the city was named Tree City USA for the 48th time by the Arbor Day Foundation.  AM 1100 The Flag

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Lil’ Bitz Pumpkin Patch on the Hoglund family farm northwest of Fargo opened yesterday at 11:00 a.m. and welcomed families with horse rides, a petting zoo, and miniature hay mazes. The patch is under new family ownership—ensuring the tradition continues—and will operate Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until October 26.  KVRR

  • On September 12th, 2025, Fargo North and Fargo South played a high school football game that was broadcast live, with the broadcast produced from a studio on Thunder Road South in Fargo.  AM 1100 The Flag
  • The F-M area's hottest pickleball venue held its official grand opening this weekend as it opened the restaurant, play area, and pro shop for the first time. The facility—housed in the old Family Fare on 8th Street S—features 15 indoor courts, 8 bean bag lanes for free play, and offers introductory lessons for five dollars.  KVRR
