EDUCATION NEWS

  • North Dakota State College of Science automotive students received a donation of a 2024 Ford F-150 STX Series pickup from Vision Ford and Ford Motor Company on Sept. 12. The truck will serve as a real-world training tool — filling a gap in the school's fleet and addressing the shortage of skilled technicians — while letting students work on modern suspension, electronics and dashboard systems.  AM 1100 The Flag
  • NDSU reported that 257 students earned their degrees in the summer semester, with the graduation list showing their hometowns, majors and degree types—honors graduates needed a 3.50 GPA and 12 credits.  NDSU
  • Three NDSU students spent their summer interning at NASA research centers—one worked on a lunar camera system while another tested heat pipes—and said hands-on projects and strong NDSU mentorship have prepared them for future aerospace careers.  NDSU
  • NDSU released its Summer 2025 Dean's List with 169 students earning honors by meeting standards that require a 3.50 GPA and enrollment in at least 12 credits.  NDSU

  • North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer marked conservative activist Charlie Kirk's death and voiced concern over a federal plan to assign extra security officers to all U.S. Senators—he said that having more officers could make senators less accessible. Cramer added that while he prayed for peace, the loss would lead to deeper, significant discussions about security and public engagement.  AM 1100 The Flag

SPORTS NEWS

  • MSUM Football head coach Steve Laqua met with reporter Jace Denman and discussed the team's changes from Game 1 to Game 2 as they prepare for the upcoming home opener against Winona State. He said the coaching staff will tweak its strategy—using lessons from previous games—to boost performance in future contests.  WDAY Radio
  • Big Game James McCarty interviewed MSUM Football tight end Gavin Lill on September 12 and Lill discussed his first collegiate touchdown as well as his approach to the upcoming home opener—his teammates’ support makes him confident.  AM 1100 The Flag
