- ➤ At about 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, a four-car crash at mile marker 349 on I-94 caused a chain reaction when a 22-year-old driver rear-ended a halted vehicle after an earlier collision slowed traffic, and one 70-year-old passenger was seriously injured and taken to a hospital as North Dakota Highway Patrol investigates the incident — the first driver was cited for following too closely. - ➤ On Tuesday morning, 89-year-old Burton Swenson died when his car collided with the westbound vehicle of 64-year-old Cary Zepper on State Highway 34 between Barnesville and Dunvilla in rural Clay County — authorities said both drivers were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor as Zepper was taken to a Fargo hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
