- ➤ Today, the Ahmed family of ten broke ground on their new five-bedroom home as the 86th family selected for the Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity Program—after applying five times, they will contribute over 500 hours of sweat equity to build the home within a year. WDAY Radio

- ➤ A man crashed into multiple vehicles at the Lunde Lincoln Mercury Jeep dealership parking lot on Saturday, August 16 and was arrested on DUI/APC charges after officers found him impaired – Michael Pedersen was taken to Cass County Jail. WDAY Radio
- ➤ Moorhead Police arrested two juveniles when a traffic stop for an equipment violation led to the discovery of a loaded handgun and charged an 18-year-old in connection to a June 19 drive-by shooting—while officers continue searching for a second suspect and a white Chrysler 300 with Minnesota plates EJJ379. - ➤ The Fargo Air Museum hosted a ceremony to honor twin brothers Hank and Bill Warcken who died in World War II, and author Kevin Callahan led the event & has researched their history since 2009. KVRR
- ➤ Bonanzaville in West Fargo will host its 55th annual Pioneer Days celebration on Saturday, August 23rd and Sunday, August 24th. The event will run from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on both days—featuring horse-drawn carriage rides, parades at 2 p.m., a kiddie tractor pull, old-time music, a pioneer church service, and the North Dakota State Pedal Tractor Pull competition with registration starting Sunday at 11 a.m. Fargo Underground

- ➤ Loriana Walter, an incoming NDSU freshman from Cheyenne, Wyoming, earned the Congressional Award Gold Medal for completing required hours in public service, personal development, and physical fitness as well as an expedition that strengthened her skills. She plans to study agriculture communication and business while joining the university cheer team. NDSU

- ➤ Two critically endangered pied tamarins — Noah and Peanut Butter — arrived at Red River Zoo and are completing a quarantine in the Discovery Center as they come from a small region in Brazil and face habitat loss, urban development and competition from other species. KVRR
