- ➤ Tabias Walker was arraigned on August 15 on manslaughter and aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon charge for beating 55-year-old John Pilcher (whose injuries led to hospitalization and death ten days later) on August 3 in downtown Fargo. AM 1100 The Flag

- ➤ Marisol Morocho Lema at NDSU is testing how spring and winter camelina grow on salty soils to help farmers plant crops that can survive harsh conditions — her tests show spring types work better and will guide new crop breeding for fuel and feed. NDSU

- ➤ Fargo Police Captain Bill Ahlfeldt finished his final shift Friday after more than 23 years of service and will join Moorhead Police as Assistant Chief—he helped launch the state’s first Real Time Crime Center. AM 1100 The Flag
- ➤ City inspectors declared the apartment building at 1202 1st Ave S dangerous — the building sustained severe damage from a SWAT raid in June and a fire in July that destroyed a basement unit and caused smoke damage along with repeated calls for service. The property owners must secure permits to repair the building or face demolition at a hearing on September 2nd. AM 1100 The Flag

- ➤ Fargo Cass Public Health is hosting back-to-school vaccine clinics in its parking lot at 1240 25th St South on Tuesdays in August with extra appointments available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Parents can bring children from kindergarten to college to receive vaccines from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. — officials say the clinics help protect against fast-spreading diseases like measles and pertussis. - ➤ North Dakota’s Department of Health reported a rise in WNV cases with 26 cases recorded as of August 14—11 patients were hospitalized and 9 had nervous system complications while 38 mosquito pools and some birds also tested positive. Officials warned that late August was the peak period for the virus and advised residents to use repellents, wear long sleeves, and avoid outdoor activities at dusk and dawn. AM 1100 The Flag
