CRIME NEWS

  • Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner said he and his team faced disrespect while walking with Fargo police downtown on August 9—he reported hearing insults, including being called an offensive name three times, and witnessing similar treatment of other officers— and he will return later this week to better understand the challenges his staff face.  AM 1100 The Flag

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The North Dakota Public Service Commission filed a legal complaint with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to stop the Midcontinent Independent System Operator from forcing the state to pay for renewable energy projects that North Dakota does not require. PSC Chairman Randel Christmann said the challenge would keep North Dakotans from covering mandates set by other states—MISO is reviewing the filing.  AM 1100 The Flag
  • Four senior officials including the city’s communications chief resigned from Fargo’s Communications & Governmental Affairs Team effective Sunday August 17th at 11:59pm amid criticism over the handling of the August 3rd shootings.  WDAY Radio
  • North Dakota leaders met with U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright on August 13 at 2:15 p.m. at the Energy and Environmental Research Center in Grand Forks to advance U.S. energy dominance—Governor Kelly Armstrong, Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak and Senators Kevin Cramer and John Hoeven attended.
