- ➤ After violence on August 3rd—two shootings that left one dead and two injured and an assault on a 55-year-old man—Fargo’s Downtown Community Partnership leader Rocky Schneider said downtown was unfairly called unsafe and urged more steps to boost safety and address homelessness. WDAY Radio

- ➤ Fargo police are investigating a reported overnight shooting downtown & officers went door to door after a public advisory urged residents to avoid the 900 block of 6th Avenue South shortly before 1 a.m. WDAY Radio
- ➤ Cass County State’s Attorney Kim Hegvik said on the Morning Show that downtown violence over the weekend left two people dead and another critically injured and that sentencing will follow the facts of each case as a manhunt continues for accused shooter Tyrque Jones (20) who was on supervised probation. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fargo Public Works said that improperly placed bins are slowing garbage collection because drivers must get out of their trucks to move them — which can lead to damage near mailboxes, bikes and vehicles. The department urged residents to follow proper blue bin placement to avoid these delays. KVRR
- ➤ HUD Secretary Scott Turner visited North Dakota this week to tour the Monterey and Brighton Place Apartments in the Fargo-Moorhead area and hold a roundtable with local leaders including the governor, the mayors of Fargo and West Fargo and Senator Hoeven. He said the visit encouraged him to form partnerships with faith-based groups to expand affordable housing and reduce homelessness. AM 1100 The Flag
