- ➤ Fargo City Commissioner Michelle Turnberg said she was upset that residents were not alerted sooner about Sunday morning shootings that left two people dead, led police to block off Broadway, and resulted in a suspect being named fifteen hours later — she added that the new city budget will allow the department to hire more officers. - ➤ After shootings in Fargo on August 3 left one dead and two injured downtown and another shooting along 16th Avenue South claimed one life, firearms instructor John Wilson of Red River Range urged residents to train and stay alert rather than simply buying a gun, warning that a weapon must be used responsibly with proper practice for cover and safety. - ➤ Fargo police say 22-year-old suspect Tyrque Patrick Jones, who pleaded guilty to a 2024 robbery at gunpoint and served 45 days in jail+ one year of probation, allegedly shot on the 50 block of Broadway on August 3rd, killing one and injuring two while investigators have not yet linked him to another shooting on the 4700 block of 16th Avenue South.
