- ➤ Chief Pete Nielsen of the West Fargo Police Department said in an in-person studio interview that police pursuits are not increasing and occur in less than 1% of traffic stops—factors such as public safety and speed help officers decide when to end chases. He added that the new jail pod at Cass County will allow more arrestees with active warrants to be held and that the department is bolstering school safety with its large school resource officer team—comfort dogs are now part of the support for students and staff.
