  • Fargo Park District organized a community painting event at Dike West basketball court where local artists painted a vibrant mural using Fargo parks colors to show nature, movement and the city’s growth (designed by Marketing and Communications Specialist Kylie Kanwischer). The district will host a movie on the court event on Wednesday, July 23 from 6 to 8 p.m.  WDAY Radio

CRIME NEWS

  • A Fargo man, Karmen Fox, was sentenced to 40 years in federal prison for charges of fentanyl, meth and money laundering—authorities said he distributed over 100 fentanyl pills from Fargo to Devils Lake after investigating an overdose death on Spirit Lake Reservation.  AM 1100 The Flag
  • Fargo man Karmen Fox was sentenced to 40 years in federal prison for charges related to fentanyl, meth and money laundering—an investigation sparked by an overdose on Spirit Lake Reservation linked him to a December 2022 scheme that sent over 100 fentanyl pills from Fargo to Devils Lake—and he worked with others to distribute drugs across the state.  WDAY Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fargo Public Schools paused several teacher training programs on Thursday because federal funds had not arrived, which halted a bootcamp for 60 new teachers and other activities. The district will reinstate these programs if funding comes through plus it is planning alternative ways to support its schools.  KVRR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hector Intl. Airport Executive Director Shawn Dobberstein warned that if Fargo cuts temporary airport funding to cover a $6 million budget gap, the airport may have to issue revenue bonds and delay key project payments—actions that would cost taxpayers more. He said he hopes city support prevails to avoid these extra charges.  WDAY Radio
