- ➤ A Fargo man named Larry Desjarlais is accused of purposely starting a fire at 1202 1st Avenue S. on Monday morning that caused $69,000 in damage and displaced residents, and court documents show he admitted using a torch for meth on his mattress while he awaits charges of endangering by fire in Cass County jail. - ➤ Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner explained on The Coffee Club today that his office assigns a designated officer with Narcan at drug parties to quickly respond to overdoses—he added that tighter border controls have raised drug prices as drugs from Arizona and Texas become less available. - ➤ On July 9 at about 5:30 p.m., authorities say deputies responded to a domestic assault call on Becker County Highway 21 when Todd Ole Burris, 36, from Bemidji—who entered a residence, assaulted a person, and stole a firearm—fled in his vehicle, pulled into a rest stop 10 miles outside Detroit Lakes, was shot, and is now stable at Essentia in Fargo while preparations are made to book him on suspicion of aggravated assault.
