CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Fargo Police Chief David Zibolski said officers are using technology—along with help from the North Dakota Highway Patrol—to ticket motorcyclists for noise and speeding violations, and a state law effective August 1 will let them capture license plate information from vehicles that flee. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fargo officials said a recent stretch of summer heat caused roads to buckle near the intersection of 32nd Avenue South and 47th Street South (the call came on Wednesday afternoon) and near Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch at 13th Avenue South and 6th Street South. The Public Works Department placed cones to alert drivers and will repair the damage soon. AM 1100 The Flag
- ➤ The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is deploying a mobile command center today at the Red River Valley Fair to plan for large crowds and severe weather risks. Sheriff Jesse Jahner said his team will work with law enforcement—paramedics and fire services—and the National Weather Service on site to keep fairgoers safe. KVRR
- ➤ The 32nd Avenue South Reconstruction Project will move to Phase 3 on Monday, July 7—Phase 2 between 17th and 18th Street South and the 18th Street South segment at 32nd Avenue will remain closed, with drivers using detours via 35th Avenue South for eastbound and 27th Avenue South for westbound travel. Business and pedestrian access will be maintained during the construction. KVRR
