Good morning, Fargo.

On June 26, Churches United opened Silver Linings, a 36-unit complex in Moorhead that provides safe, affordable housing for homeless seniors 55 and older.

The facility includes community spaces and on-site support services—such as an activity center, laundry, and a food pantry—to help residents access additional aid.

The Village Family Service Center’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program in Fargo is urgently seeking mentors as 84 local youth need a caring adult and ten are ready to be matched today — volunteers must be 18 or older, have lived in the area for at least a year, and commit to a one-year match.

The legislature last session expanded a law to protect hospital workers from violent assaults by including them under penalties of a $10,000 fine and up to five years in jail—measures meant to address a growing problem in healthcare.

More than $30 million was approved for new psychiatric beds and updated hiring rules aim to help keep local nurses and doctors in our state.

West Fargo native Jacksen Moni signed with the San Antonio Spurs on Friday for an NBA Summer League opportunity and he will report to the team soon, with the league set to run from July 10-20 on ESPN.

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks lost 1 to 0 to the Milwaukee Milkmen on Thursday afternoon as Tyler Jandron gave up the only run over seven innings and Kyle Johnston pitched two shutout innings in relief—limiting the team to just three hits and four base runners.

They then began a weekend series at the Lincoln Saltdogs on Friday at 7:05 p.m.—a follow-up that underscores the tight pitching duel.
