  • Fargo — tonight in downtown Broadway Square, the Night Bazaar Renaissance starts at 5 p.m. with live local entertainment, food and drinks as community members in costume gather to reconnect.  KVRR
  • Today at Bonanzaville, visitors saw Fargo’s time capsule opened to reveal 1975 mementos such as postcards, films, and sale slips & catalogues. Mayor Tim Mahoney said he will plan a new, more waterproof capsule next year & longtime locals recalled memories from the event.  KVRR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At the Civic Center, Mayor Tim Mahoney opened a 1975 time capsule that held TV guides, films, a telephone, and memorabilia from the Fargo-Moorhead Centennial, and some items will go to Bonanzaville USA and NDSU archives— he said he will plan another capsule next year.  WDAY Radio
  • At a special Cass County Commission meeting on Thursday in Fargo, officials extended the state of emergency indefinitely after severe thunderstorms on June 20 caused widespread damage, demolished a grain bin near Hunter, and claimed three lives in Enderlin. Sheriff Jesse Jahner said power has mostly been restored in Page and Hunter—deputies work 12 hour shifts—and extra patrols secure property until repairs are made.  KVRR
