- ➤ Fargo police arrested Miranda Risberg (33) and Shelby Whitt (27) after witnesses reported them leaving the scene of an injury hit and run crash on Saturday, June 14 near the 600 block of 10th Street North, with Risberg charged for drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine, and traffic violations and Whitt facing charges including fleeing a peace officer and multiple warrants. - ➤ At the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead, the Scandinavian Festival began Friday with music, food and nearly 30 vendors offering Nordic treats and local stories—volunteers in traditional costumes welcomed guests while the event continues through today. KVRR
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ NDSU doctoral students Pooyan Vahidi Pashaki and Benjamin Vahidi Pashaki earned runner-up honors at the Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge—an international contest for student projects—and won a $1,000 prize for their startup Elevate BioTech that built AI software to improve ACL surgical planning. They worked with professors Kalpana Katti and Dinesh Katti to use patient data for reducing surgery risks and helping patient recovery. NDSU
