CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Cass County Sheriff’s Office warned the public today about a text scam after county employees received phishing texts on county-issued and personal phones, with messages impersonating the NDDOT to claim unpaid fines and threaten license suspensions — officials stressed that the department never sends texts about fines. - ➤ Fargo Cass Public Health conducted an alcohol compliance check on 32 businesses on Friday, June 13th and six establishments including three Applebee’s locations, Chili’s Grill and Bar, Bismarck Tavern and Empire Tavern failed the test for selling alcohol to minors—each will face a $500 fine for a first offense. - ➤ Police responded Thursday after a call reported a possible drive-by shooting in the 1300 block of 12th St South in Moorhead—officials from the Clay County Sheriff’s office, MN State Patrol, and Moorhead Police arrived at the scene as the investigation continues. WDAY Radio

- ➤ Fargo’s Capstone Classical Academy opened its new Christian building in January and added about 70 new students, bringing enrollment to over 300 for this fall. Headmaster Paul Fisher said the school will add a 10th grade and junior varsity sports in the future — while working to keep a welcoming, personal culture. AM 1100 The Flag

- ➤ Sen. John Hoeven announced at the Fargo VFW that he secured an agreement in principle for planned improvements at Fargo National Cemetery—he held a press event with Mayor Tim Mahoney and the Fargo Memorial Honor Guard. The improvements will include more parking, a welcome center, and indoor bathrooms funded by state, federal, and private sources—groundbreaking is planned for the fall. KVRR

- ➤ The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks and Sioux City Explorers resumed their game on Thursday night at 6 p.m. after rain halted play on Wednesday with the score tied 2 to 2 in the seventh inning with two outs— the teams then played their scheduled nine inning game later that night with the second contest starting 30 minutes after the first ended.
