COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Fargo Park District rescheduled the reopening celebration at Island Park Pool from Monday to today at 11:30 a.m. after a thunderstorm caused delays, and the pool completed a two-year renovation starting in spring 2023—daily admission is now $10 for youth and $12 for adults.  WDAY Radio

CRIME NEWS

  • The Clay County attorney’s office announced that Jerome Thomas III was indicted for first degree premeditated murder, first degree murder by drive-by shooting and two counts of attempted first degree murder with premeditation in connection with an April drive-by shooting in Moorhead—he was arraigned on June 16 with bail set at $6 million without conditions or $4 million with conditions and his next hearing is scheduled for August 28.  WDAY Radio

ECONOMY NEWS

  • ND Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring praised local farmers and ranchers for handling the spring's unpredictable weather—ranging from easing droughts in some areas to severe flooding in central parts that impacted planting—while slowly rebuilding cattle numbers through higher prices and careful herd retention. He noted that state programs such as the Rebuilders Program and enhanced beginning farmer loans from the Bank of North Dakota are helping producers meet rising operating costs and scale up their operations for family living.  WDAY Radio

  • Cass County Sheriff's Office is holding a training exercise tonight from 6 to 10 p.m. at Bonanzaville in West Fargo so residents may see extra officers carrying guns and hearing loud noises — the exercise poses no threat to public safety.  KVRR
