- ➤ Fargo Police responded to an ongoing incident at the intersection of 1st Avenue South and 12th Street South yesterday evening—officials asked residents to avoid the area. WDAY Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fargo voters approved a new convention center in November and the city has asked private developers to submit detailed proposals via its procurement portal. Proposals must be received by August 7 at 5 p.m. and the project will be funded by raising the lodging tax from 3% to 5% for the next 25 years—reviewed by a 14-member committee before recommendation to city commissioners. - ➤ On Friday, June 13, road construction in West Fargo left some residents without driveway access near 8th St W and Westwynd Drive — crews had sent a 24-hour advance notice and many residents regained access, although weather slowed the concrete curing with full access expected by August. KVRR
- ➤ City crews in Fargo will close 40th Avenue South between 15th Street South and University Drive South on Monday for concrete replacement at the University Drive South intersection and reduce lanes to one in each direction for two weeks—starting on the morning of June 16, the road will be narrowed to one lane each way between 36th Street South and 38th Street South for storm sewer repairs before reopening by the end of June 23.
