COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Bonnie June, a nine-year-old shelter dog, was found alone and has been at 4 Luv of Dog in Moorhead for about a month. She is spayed, vaccinated, chipped and friendly with people but does not do well with cats—she is eligible for the Seniors for Seniors adoption program.  KVRR
  • Fargo’s 4 Luv of Dog Rescue may soon euthanize dogs for lack of space as overcrowding reaches a crisis point — a step not taken in over twenty years. Rescue coordinator Amy Gore said the shelter is full and is urging the community to help with foster care and boarding support.  KVRR

CRIME NEWS

  • Fargo police searched south Fargo Tuesday for 27-year-old Shelby Whitt, who fled when officers responded to a call on the 2100 block of 21st Ave. S. for a man with outstanding warrants — two bystanders suffered minor injuries while trying to block his escape, and officers later tracked his vehicle near the YWCA shelter using K9 units and a drone, asking anyone with tips to call 701-451-7660.  KVRR
  • Today, a traffic stop on I-29 near Thompson resulted in the arrest of Fargo men—Gabriel Messmer and Christopher Ringsrud-Knowles—for having an explosive device in their vehicle, and the device was safely detonated by the Grand Forks Bomb Squad before the highway reopened at 1 p.m.  KVRR

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Representatives from Grand Farm unveiled the 2025 Regional Agriculture Pain Point Report today at the Cultivate Conference in downtown Fargo— the report details challenges like herbicide resistance, higher input costs, and equipment compatibility issues impacting farmers in the Dakotas and Minnesota. Farmer Kathi Luther from Enderlin said the event gives growers a chance to add their input on solving these problems.  KVRR

HEALTH NEWS

  • ShareHouse celebrated 50 years by hosting an anniversary bash at Broadway Square. Originally started as a halfway house with six beds on June 23 in 1975, the rehabilitation facility now offers drug and alcohol treatment in Fargo and Grand Forks and plans to expand its outpatient services—an effort to better meet community needs.  KVRR
