  • Golden Drive Homeless Kids will host a $5 bbq fundraiser to help homeless kids at Cash Wise on 13th Avenue South in Fargo on Friday & Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event offers business pre-orders, pickup options and will run alongside CoreCon at the Holiday Inn & support local care efforts.  KVRR

  • Authorities warn of a pig butchering scam in North Dakota that uses artificial intelligence to send emails, texts, and online chatbots to lure victims into poor long-term investments—scammers aim to steal money and claims note over $6 billion is lost annually.  AM 1100 The Flag

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Kelly Armstrong vetoed proposed bills that would have given lawmakers immunity for conflict of interest votes. He used a line item veto—citing a flawed proposal—to uphold the state’s system of checks and balances.  WDAY Radio
  • More than 40 business and community leaders attended the Chamber of Commerce fly-in in Washington, D.C. from May 19 to May 21 to meet with U.S. Congressional delegates and federal officials about trade, tariffs, immigration, agriculture, and workforce issues—raising concerns over local business losses and labor shortages.  WDAY Radio

  • UND head coach Dane Jackson announced on May 21 that former defenseman and captain Matt Smaby is the program’s new Associate Head Coach—Smaby expressed excitement about returning to Grand Forks and working with the staff to elevate the team.  WDAY Radio
  • Tuesday night's series opener between the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks and Chicago Dogs was postponed due to rain at Newman Outdoor Field, and the teams played a seven-inning doubleheader on Wednesday evening—Game One started at 6 p.m. while Game Two began 30 minutes after the first game ended.  AM 1100 The Flag
