- ➤ A West Fargo child care program is reviewing its policies after a child was accidentally left outside during Tuesday’s after-school program at L.E. Berger Elementary, where the YMCA operates in partnership. YMCA staff said they notified officials and spoke with the child's family — they are looking into steps to prevent this from happening again. KVRR
- ➤ Thirty-seven NDSU students will begin a 12-day Bison to the Bakken experience on May 18 as they tour energy sites and meet industry leaders, with travel and lodging paid by state funds — the program also offers academic credit while exploring topics from oil production to wind energy. The immersive schedule includes industry tours and cultural stops that connect students with North Dakota's dynamic energy sector. NDSU

- ➤ The City of Fargo is not challenging House Bill 1297, which bans ranked-choice and approval voting in all elections—Mayor Tim Mahoney said that although Fargo residents supported the approval voting system, his administration will respect the legislature's decision. AM 1100 The Flag
- ➤ Downtown Fargo will soon add a removable steel vehicle barrier system on Second Avenue North to protect pedestrians during large public gatherings. Executive Director Rocky Schneider said the measure is designed to prevent possible vehicle attacks—citing the New Orleans incident on New Year's Day as a key example. WDAY Radio
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Fargo Cass Public Health held an MMR vaccine walk-in clinic Thursday at its building to help curb measles after 12 cases were reported statewide (two were in Cass County) and administered 30 doses to local residents. WDAY Radio
- ➤ The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services said anyone who visited the Band Day Parade on May 10 or Tractor Supply on May 12 in Williston may have been exposed to measles. Health officials have confirmed 11 cases in Williams County and two in Cass County, with the last reported case in 2011. AM 1100 The Flag
