- ➤ A 34-year-old Valley City man was charged with DUI after his pickup drove the wrong way and hit a train Tuesday morning on the 400 block of 12th Avenue Northeast in West Fargo—he was injured and taken to Sanford Hospital. WDAY Radio

- ➤ Indigenous families celebrated the graduation of high school seniors at Dakota High School on 9th Avenue South—starting with a prayer, communal meal, and diploma presentations with traditional Native song and dance. - ➤ NDSU and Titan Machinery are partnering to host a two-day summer camp that will give high school students a hands-on look at precision agriculture—participants will explore technical systems and practical maintenance tasks at NDSU Memorial Union. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Officials in a City Commission meeting on May 14 explained that money raised by voters' quarter-cent sales tax in November will fund public safety improvements; firefighters will see a 7% market adjustment + police officers will receive a 5% market adjustment while funds also upgrade technology and refurbish older facilities like the nearly 60-year-old burn building. The plan aims to align salaries with regional averages and renew critical infrastructure. KVRR
- ➤ Fargo-Moorhead law enforcement agencies are hiring new staff—Moorhead Police has 14 officer openings with 13 offers and a Field Training Academy training six recruits, while Cass County Sheriff’s office is filling 17 jail staff positions. West Fargo Police remains fully staffed. WDAY Radio
- ➤ Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney said he was pleased Governor Kelly Armstrong signed a property tax relief bill but warned the city might face budget challenges because a new law caps local property tax budget increases at 3%—a rate far below Fargo’s 4.5 to 5% growth.
