- ➤ Fargo Police arrested three people after recovering a stolen vehicle from Moorhead Sunday night—Nicholas Hilsendeger, Deandre Lacroix and Kaleb Oldrock faced charges including theft and narcotics-related offenses while West Fargo Police assisted. WDAY Radio
- ➤ Fargo Police spokeswoman Katie Ettish confirmed that police and fire have begun a search of the Red River after reports indicated that someone may have entered the water—no further details are available. WDAY Radio
- ➤ Fargo Police arrested three people after recovering a stolen vehicle Sunday night in Moorhead—22-year-old Nicholas Hilsendeger was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and narcotics paraphernalia, 29-year-old Deandre Lacroix with fentanyl possession and a failure to appear warrant, and 28-year-old Kaleb Oldrock with theft and narcotics paraphernalia—with help from West Fargo Police. - ➤ Fargo authorities are offering a reward of up to $5000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in the arson of a Tesla power station at SCHEELS on March 21. Surveillance footage shows an individual setting fire to the charging bank before fleeing—investigators urge anyone with details to come forward. KVRR
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gasoline prices fell by four cents per gallon last week—bringing the average for unleaded gas to $2.87, which is 15 cents lower than last month and 41 cents lower than last year—and the cheapest was $2.61 while the most expensive was $3.49. KVRR
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Nic Frello and Caleb Jarvis were elected as student body president and vice president at NDSU and will lead campus initiatives in the upcoming academic year. They plan to boost student involvement—by establishing a Senate Outreach Committee, reinstating the spring expo, increasing football tickets, and expanding the food pantry in partnership with the Great Plains Food Bank—to improve communication and support student needs. - ➤ Halli Heimbuch (a master’s graduate in exercise and nutrition science) will speak at NDSU’s commencement on May 17 at 2 p.m. at the Fargodome. She will share how the campus community and her work with the Goods for the Herd Food Pantry helped shape her journey toward a clinical dietitian role with Sanford Health Fargo. NDSU
- ➤ Patrick Kirkpatrick, an environmental engineering graduate, was named the student representative for NDSU's 10 a.m. commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 17. He said he will keep the friendships and memories from his time at school, and after graduation he will move back to Wisconsin to work as a geotechnical engineer (a career move that builds on his college experience). - ➤ West Fargo will hold an open house at City Hall on Growth Area Master Plan on May 21 from 5 to 7 p.m.—an event where residents can review project maps and share feedback—while the planning anticipates a population boost after the FM Area Diversion Project is completed in 2027. WDAY Radio
