COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The third annual Cruise for A Cure at Veterans Memorial Arena in West Fargo featured hot rods and classic cars and was organized by two high school girls. Event coordinator Jasmine Dill said donations have reached nearly $2,000 + vendors and food trucks supported the effort for the American Cancer Society.  KVRR
  • The Salvation Army in Fargo—serving the community for 128 years—is marking National Salvation Army Week today, a celebration that highlights its work in providing 48,000 meals and 90,000 rental, utility, transportation, and other services in 2024. Major Abe Tamayo praised the volunteers and community partners for their ongoing support in meeting local needs.  KVRR

HEALTH NEWS

  • The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services reported two measles cases in Cass County where unvaccinated individuals caught the virus during international travel—one is hospitalized. Officials tracked possible exposures at Essentia Health clinics on May 7 at The Lights West Fargo Clinic and on May 9 at a walk-in care clinic at 4110 51st Avenue South, and they said the state now has 11 confirmed cases.  AM 1100 The Flag

  • On Mother's Day, the RedHawks beat the Canaries 9-5 by scoring three runs in each of the first three innings, with Juan Fernandez hitting his first home run of the season and Greg Minier pitching five innings for the win—tonight the team will face the Kane County Cougars at Newman Outdoor Field at 7:02 p.m.  AM 1100 The Flag
