- ➤ A 20-year-old Fargo man, Richee Koomsman, was arrested after a head-on crash on Thursday morning at 15 1/2 Avenue S and University Drive when his speeding vehicle crossed the center line and struck an oncoming car, injuring two passengers with serious but non-life-threatening injuries plus officers said the investigation is ongoing with possible additional charges. - ➤ Terrell Smith entered an Alford plea for his role in the downtown Fargo brawl that left Sam Pikula with serious head and face injuries over a year ago — he is scheduled to be sentenced next month. KVRR

- ➤ NDSU museum studies students under Professor Angela Smith will open a permanent exhibit at Bonanzaville in West Fargo at 1 p.m. on May 10—tracing Fargo’s journey from its 1870s frontier roots to the era of Bonanza farming. The free event will also feature a program and film screening—offering visitors a look into the region’s evolving agricultural history. NDSU

- ➤ The City of West Fargo closed the Sheyenne Diversion gates on the Sheyenne River to divert water from I-94 and is now monitoring water levels and infrastructure. - ➤ Fargo businessman Jim Poolman resigned from the UND Alumni Association and Foundation board and campaign committee on Tuesday after distancing himself from disgraced former state Sen. Ray Holmberg when their picture circulated on social media. In his resignation letter he said serving on the board was a career highlight but he did not want to distract UND’s progress — his decision aims to keep the university focused on its future. KVRR
