COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ State Rep. Liz Conmy died over the weekend in a plane crash in the Twin Cities. A Celebration of Life is planned Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at RiverHaven in Moorhead, and attendees are encouraged to wear something colorful. KVRR
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Joseph Koerber, a Cass County School Resource Deputy at Kindred Public Schools, has been named for the regional Exceptional Service Award for his six years of service. He will receive the honor at the National School Safety Conference (June 29) in Reno. KVRR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Construction crews are finalizing work on 32nd Avenue South, repairing sidewalks and storm water systems from University Drive to 15th Street + Red River. City officials say the contractor may earn monetary incentives to finish by Sept. 9 and an open house was held for affected residents. KVRR
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Formerly known as Rape and Abuse Crisis Center, the service rebrands as Sollera and will open a new center at 415 4th St. N Fargo on June 1 (survey feedback showed the old name deterred those needing help); Dr. Christopher Johnson said it aims to serve for 50 years. KVRR
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Moorhead Spuds secured their 10th consecutive Class AA State Championship last Friday at Park Center High School by scoring 70 points+ finishing nearly 30 points ahead of Lakeville North and Apple Valley. KVRR
