CRIME NEWS

  • Fargo man Randall Duffy was sentenced Tuesday by Cass County District Court to 30 years in jail for murdering his girlfriend Jody Campbell—he pled guilty in January to murder and domestic violence charges.  AM 1100 The Flag

CULTURE NEWS

  • Nordic Culture Club is holding a Swedish Death Cleaning fundraiser at the Hjemkomst Center to raise money for this June's Scandinavian Festival—Valerie Johnson explained on the Morning Show how cleaning out belongings can help families and fund the event.  KVRR
  • Country stars Dustin Lynch and Scotty McCreery will perform at Scheels Arena on Friday, December 5 during their Two For The Road Tour—with special guests Sons of Habit. Ticketmaster is holding presale registration now—with presale beginning Thursday at 10 a.m. and public tickets on sale Friday at 10 a.m.  KVRR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Red River Valley SWAT is training in Fargo and West Fargo this week—Monday’s session was at the 200 block of 4th Street North in Fargo, today’s session is at the 2400 block of 18th Street South in Fargo, and Thursday’s sessions will be at the 500 block of 3rd Avenue North in Fargo and the 600 block of Morrison Street in West Fargo. Police say there are no safety issues.  WDAY Radio
  • The Red River Valley SWAT team is holding training exercises in Fargo and West Fargo this week, with officers carrying firearms without live rounds and generating loud noises. The drills include events on Monday, April 28th at the 200 block of 4th St. N. in Fargo, today at the 2400 block of 18th St. S. in Fargo, and on May 1 at the 500 block of 3rd Ave. N. in Fargo and the 600 block of Morrison St. in West Fargo—each set to improve practical readiness.  KVRR
  • Lane closures on I-94 westbound near the Red River Bridge in Moorhead will occur overnight as work begins to extend the bridge’s life and improve safety (drivers should expect summer traffic impacts with the project set to end in October). In Fargo, northbound lanes on 45th Street South are reduced to one lane and crews will soon narrow the southbound lanes (local signs will guide traffic) as work wraps up by mid-July.  AM 1100 The Flag
