EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ ACE Tutoring earned recertification from the College Reading and Learning Association for maintaining high tutor training standards since 2007 and training peer tutors for NDSU students (the recertification is among only 2,000 programs worldwide). NDSU
- ➤ NDSU’s microbiology program offers hands-on research and small classes that prepare students for careers in healthcare, agriculture and research (as shared by alumni who have moved on to medical and veterinary school). NDSU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The USDA reorganization plan will create nearly $29M in annual research funding for North Dakota and add 45 new Ag Research Service positions; Fargo gains 17 employees and two projects worth $3.8M while Grand Forks receives 28 employees and eight projects valued at $24.7M. KVRR
- ➤ The Fargo Forward Coalition is urging voters to renew the one-cent sales tax that raised $34 million in 2024. The group, made up of local business owners + longtime residents, says a June ballot measure must earn 60% support to continue funding essential city projects. KVRR
