- ➤ Fargo Police responded to reports of gunshots near Stamart Liquor Mart on the 3200 block of 12th Avenue North at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday and after a two-hour search found no evidence of gunfire (a listener's photo showed eight squad cars) while assuring the public there is no safety risk. - ➤ A West Fargo police report showed a six percent decline in overall crime in 2024, with a 16 percent drop in crimes against persons and an 18 percent drop in crimes against property, even as calls for service increased by 15 percent since 2021 + Chief Pete Nielsen said the department continues to meet the community’s changing needs. - ➤ Jessica Stoen, a 2017 NDSU graduate and Northern Cass Elementary School teacher, received the prestigious Milken Educator Award at UCLA during the Milken Educator Awards Forum held from April 1st to April 3rd in Los Angeles. - ➤ Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins announced more than $5 million in disaster assistance funds for ND farmers during her visit to Fargo Tuesday to help rebuild electric infrastructure damaged by wildfires and severe storms—she also explained that new sugar tariffs will impose a 33% duty on imported products with over 65% sugar—supporting American grown sugar.
