- ➤ Registration is open for Farm in the Dell, a community supported agriculture program in the Red River Valley offering locally grown produce. Participants can sign up for vegetable boxes available from the second week of July through the end of September, with hopes of enrolling 100+ participants. KVRR
- ➤ Twelve runners will trek over 400 miles from Medora starting Oct. 15 until arriving in Fargo on Oct. 18 to share stories of love and loss for families who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss (10.15 Project), an event co-founded by Haven. KVRR
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Snap Dragon Asian Buffet in Moorhead will close on May 18 after more than 20 years of service — the owners plan to spend more time with their kids and may lease or sell the property, so loyal customers are invited for one final visit. KVRR
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ NDSU will host its annual Community Garden-themed fashion show on Wednesday, Apr. 29 at noon in the Oceti Sakowin Ballroom at Memorial Union. Eight student designers, seven senior designers, three alumni, and 11 local retailers will showcase new styles with collaborative projects (the event is free and will be livestreamed by the Bison Information Network). - ➤ Fargo-Moorhead Opera and Fargo-Moorhead Symphony will share sixty artists (their first fully joint performance) in a production of Puccini’s Tosca and a full-length opera that begins with an intense opening segment. Executive directors Rebecca Thiel and Lucas Wood planned the idea a year ago. KVRR
- ➤ Parachigo, a downtown art and music venue, is seeking donations after last month's earnings totaled as little as 76 cents despite a fully booked event schedule. Owners say community support is vital to keeping the venue running after three years of hosting local artists + events. KVRR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ After a water break was fixed in Finley following an outage since Friday afternoon, the Dakota Rural Water District is pressure testing to fully restore service. Meanwhile, The Salvation Army will serve a hot meal in the Auditorium tonight until 8 p.m. KVRR
- ➤ Clay County commissioners approved a new deer hunting zone for rifles based on Minnesota DNR permit boundaries (666 and 239). The allowable zone runs from Highway 9 to Highway 10 then from Highway 32 to 34 and I-94, with new rules to be adopted by May 5. KVRR
