COMMUNITY NEWS

  • AARP North Dakota will host a cybercrime seminar on Wednesday, Apr. 15 at the James Carlson Branch of the Fargo Public Library and a document shredding event on Saturday, Apr. 25 in West Fargo to help older adults avoid scams.  KVRR
  • A truckload of 40,000 pounds of food was delivered to the Great Plains Food Bank from a nationwide effort by America250 and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The donation will feed over 167,000 families, and more deliveries are scheduled in the coming weeks.  KVRR
  • Veterans Honor Flight (ND/MN) announced a fifth flight set to depart from Grand Forks International Airport in November for a free trip to Washington, D.C., while a double flight is planned from Fargo on May 10-12 to extend this opportunity for more veterans.  KVRR

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Coca-Cola High Country held a groundbreaking ceremony in West Fargo on April 8 and company and city officials celebrated plans to build a new distribution plant with improved truck docking and a separate fleet shop (construction is expected to take about a year).  KVRR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fargo's NDSU senior Emily Mikhail worked at NASA (Langley) last summer on lunar lander research for the Artemis II mission; she was named an Astronaut Scholar for 2025 to 2026 and will begin an internship with Blue Origin next summer.  KVRR

HEALTH NEWS

  • BIO Girls (for Beautiful Inside and Out) is hosting its annual Find Your Kind 5k on April 29 in Fargo, where over 300 girls from second to sixth grade will run or walk to boost their physical activity and mental well-being.  KVRR

  • University of Minnesota head men's hockey coach Brett Larson announced a new coaching staff update that includes former NHL star Matt Cullen as Director of Player Development for the 2026-27 season; Cullen is a Moorhead High alum & minority owner of the Fargo Force.  KVRR
