  • Fargo Police warned residents today that scam artists have been calling to raise money for officer training by asking for credit card or gift card payments—calls the department says it never makes.  AM 1100 The Flag

SPORTS NEWS

  • UND hired Bryn Chyzyk as the Men’s Hockey program’s first General Manager and assistant coach—he played at UND and has worked in coaching and scouting. Head coach Dane Jackson said his strong hockey contacts will help the team find good players—he is excited for Chyzyk’s return.  WDAY Radio
  • North Dakota State redshirt junior left-handed pitcher Nolan Johnson was named the Summit League peak Pitcher of the Week after he pitched seven shutout innings with 10 strikeouts in a 6-3 series-opening win over Omaha this past weekend. He holds a 3-3 record (all three wins coming in league play) and will pitch Tuesday night in Omaha against Creighton.  WDAY Radio
  • University of North Dakota’s men’s hockey program announced the hiring of Bryn Chyzyk as its first general manager—he will also serve as an assistant coach to help shape the team’s future. Chyzyk, a former UND player with coaching and scouting experience, said he is excited to return to the campus that helped shape his hockey career.  AM 1100 The Flag
