CRIME NEWS

  • A 17-year-old was arrested Sunday afternoon after police responded to reports of gunshots in south Fargo at 3:16 p.m. in the 3300 block of 42nd Street S—officers located individuals matching witness descriptions and charged the teen with theft of a gun before he was taken to juvenile detention as no one was hurt and the investigation remains ongoing.  KVRR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Phillip Phan, a healthcare innovation expert, will speak at NDSU on Friday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Beckwith Recital Hall—he will discuss how government policies affected physician autonomy during the COVID-19 pandemic and a free reception with hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will follow at 11 a.m.  NDSU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fargo Park District denied age discrimination and hostile work environment claims in a federal lawsuit filed by former executive director Dave Leker, who accused board members of using early retirement discussions as a pretext for his removal. The district said Leker received a professional development focus after his 2021 review and will ask the court to dismiss the suit and award legal costs.  KVRR
