- ➤ Cass County prosecutors charged 25-year-old Ryan Williams from Fargo with a felony for keying a Tesla Cybertruck parked at a West Fargo Costco over the weekend—damage was estimated between $2,000 and $10,000—and police said his vehicle was identified using cameras from nearby businesses and Tesla, and that he admitted to the act. - ➤ The Department of Justice will send 60 FBI personnel to 10 field offices including Minneapolis to support investigations of unresolved violent crimes on reservations—using advanced forensic tools to help solve cases of missing and murdered indigenous people and boost safety in Tribal communities. - ➤ Attorney General Drew Wrigley said his fight to keep dangerous criminals in prison continues after the House Judiciary Committee removed the provision that would have required violent offenders to serve half of their sentences—he said his efforts to support judges' sentencing decisions will carry on. - ➤ On March 24 the House Judiciary Committee led by Rep. Lawrence Klemin passed amendments to Senate Bill 2128 that remove the requirement for prisoners to serve at least 50% of their sentence behind bars — the changes add funding for electronic monitoring and allow a study of parole and corrections. The committee still gave a do-not-pass recommendation and the bill now moves to further legislative review. KVRR
- ➤ On Tuesday, the North Dakota House voted 46—43 to reject a resolution that would allow lawmakers to serve four complete terms totaling 16 years.
