COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Nicole Neumiller, an NDSU nutrition science student, leads the Goods for the Herd Food Pantry at the NDSU Bookstore lower level to ease student food insecurity. She works with local partners (including Great Plains Food Bank) to expand pantry appointments and support campus wellness.  NDSU
  • Great Plains Food Bank served over 167,000 people in 2025 (an 11% increase) and noted kids made up 39% and seniors 15% of its clientele; the food bank now operates through 205 programs in 104 local communities.  KVRR
  • Marie and Pete, a bonded pair of bright green-cheeked conures at the CAARE shelter in West Fargo, are available for adoption as the shelter seeks donations to recover from last year’s disease outbreak — support is needed to keep the facility open.  KVRR
  • Preparations are underway for the 29th annual St. Patrick’s Day parade as organizers add 5k and 10k runs to boost energy downtown. The parade begins at 11 a.m. in Moorhead tomorrow, and parking will be banned along the route from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.  KVRR

CULTURE NEWS

  • Fargo religious leaders say A.I. may spark sermon ideas + they stress it cannot replace the personal touch of faith, a sentiment shared by Bishop John Folda and Pastor Tony Scheving.  KVRR

HEALTH NEWS

  • Village Family Service Center launched North Dakota’s first teen addiction recovery program to help youth with substance use. The intensive outpatient program for teens aged between 14 and 17 (limiting participation to 12) is available across Fargo, Bismarck, Minot and Devils Lake, supported by a Blue Cross Blue Shield Caring Foundation grant.  KVRR
