COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ NDSU senior Sarah Kruse has been nominated for the YWCA Woman of the Year Award for her community service & leadership. The awards event will take place on April 20 at Delta by Marriott in Fargo with winners announced live. NDSU
- ➤ The sixteenth annual Unglued Craft Fest takes place this weekend in Fargo as more than eighty local makers unite to display crafts like jewelry, home decor, woodworking and foods. The festival also features a young makers section and free craft sessions led by local experts. KVRR
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ NDSU College of Business now offers an accelerated pathway through the Finish in Three program, letting students finish a business degree in three years if they start with college-level credits. The program provides personalized advising and flexible planning that helps students save time + money. NDSU
- ➤ On Feb. 27, 11 Art-and-Design and two Communication students received multiple awards at the American Advertising Awards at Avalon Events Center in Fargo, and SoDAA director Michael Strand with Carlos Roybal won the Best-of-Show Award for their social media campaign. NDSU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fargo homeowners with houses at least 40 years old and valued under $300,000 can apply for home improvement funds through the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative starting March 16. The program, run with Gate City Bank, offers grants from $10,000 to $100,000 (available on a first come first served basis). KVRR
- ➤ North Dakota Supreme Court voided a 2019 Industrial Commission order for oil-well royalties in McKenzie County — a decision that could prompt new litigation and revised requests from companies like Petro-Hunt as mineral owners prepare for changes in how payments are calculated. KVRR
