EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The North Dakota State Board of Higher Education chose Rick Berg as interim president of NDSU; he will assume the role on Monday, Feb. 9 and brings public service, business, and community leadership — skills honed over many years — to support students, faculty, and staff through the transition. NDSU
- ➤ Danielle Condry, an NDSU associate professor of microbiological sciences, was named a recipient of the 2025 USDA Excellence in College and University Teaching Award for Food and Agricultural Sciences. Her selection among six regional honorees underscores her innovative teaching + commitment to student learning. NDSU
- ➤ In fall 2025, 817 students earned degrees from NDSU as the graduation list detailed each student’s hometown, major, and degree, while honors graduates met a 3.50 GPA and enrolled in at least 12 credits. NDSU
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ With dangerous temperatures and windchills, Essentia Health’s Dr. Chris Anderson warns that frostbite, frostnip, and hypothermia can develop in minutes if people do not layer properly. Scheels’ Erik Ross advises using a wicking layer + a warmth and weather layer and choosing non-cotton clothing to stay safe outdoors. KVRR
