EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ NDSU students are gaining real-world skills by working with industry partners on projects that test their design and planning abilities. They built a device to monitor window temperatures (for Marvin Windows) and drafted proposals for the new Clay County Law Enforcement Center. NDSU
- ➤ NDSU is hosting a free workshop on Friday, Jan. 23 featuring scholar Siri Terjesen (10-11 a.m.) at Festival Concert Hall; hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served afterward at the Challey School of Music Atrium. NDSU
- ➤ Students at NDSU College of Business partnered with local organizations to design digital marketing campaigns that address real-world challenges. The teams worked with the ND Women’s Business Center, Country Hillside Designs & Elite Security Solutions, gaining hands-on experience that will guide their future careers. NDSU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, Jan. 20, the Clay County Commission approved Sheriff Empting’s cadet program, which will recruit college students 18 or older for part-time, non-sworn roles offering exposure to corrections, court services, patrol, investigations & community service functions; the sheriff’s office plans to hire three to four cadets without extra funding.
